What is invisalign?

Invisalign is an alternative to conventional braces. Instead of metal braces, a series of clear, nearly invisible aligners are used to gradually straighten your teeth to create a smile, which you will be proud of.

Am I a suitable candidate for Invisalign?

Each person must be assessed on an individual basis. This assessment consists of a clinical appointment, whereby the dentist will evaluate your teeth and discuss your treatment goals and possible outcomes.

What is involved in the treatment?

Impressions and photographs are taken of your teeth. These are then sent to invisalign, who create a Clincheck 3D computer model of your teeth showing the predicted treatment outcome. You will be invited back to the practice to discuss this with the dentist to ensure you are happy with the treatment plan. Providing this is the case, Invisalign will produce a series of clear, plastic, removable retainers for you to wear. During the treatment you will change these retainers every 2 weeks, and will visit the practice every 6-8 weeks to keep an eye on your progress.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants

What are dental implants?

Dental implant treatment is a means of replacing one or more missing teeth. The dental implant itself is a titanium screw which is placed into the jaw bone to replace an absent tooth root. This implant is then used to support a crown (or another type of dental restoration such as a denture or a bridge).

Am I suitable for dental implants?

An assessment is required to ensure that the space that is present is suitable for an implant. An x-ray will be required to assess the quantity and quality of the bone available and to ensure a great result could be achieved.

What is involved in the procedure?

Following the initial consultation, an appointment is organized to place the implant, following placement the implant is normally given time to integrate into the surrounding tissues, becoming a fixed structure. After this, an appointment is organized to take impressions so that the laboratory can fabricate the final restoration, which can then be cemented at the final appointment.
