About the Business

De-ientes Bedford was established in July 2005 and is based in Old Gaston House, a beautiful 20th Century Georgian mansion which was once home to the esteemed architect Albert Prosser, who drew plans for Aspley Guise, Bedford, Biddenham, Bromham and Ravensden. We have carefully preserved the character of the exterior, restoring the doors and windows to their original design theme, while remodelling the interior to house a state of the art Dental and Laser treatment centre.

We are equipped to achieve the highest standards of comfort and ease and want to enhance your experience with us at all times.

Once you are in the dental chair, you can enjoy soothing music or watch television, a DVD or get additional information regarding various dental treatments. You can even have a visual tour of your mouth with our magnifying camera as it beams the images to the ceiling mounted plasma screen while you get your treatment done!

Patient Comfort:

Heat, vibration and pressure are the primary causes of pain associated with the use of the traditional dental drill. Since cutting both hard and soft tissues (teeth and gums) with the Waterlase® does not generate heat, vibration or pressure, many dental procedures can be performed with fewer shots, less need for anaesthesia, less use of the drill and fewer numb lips! Additionally, using the Waterlase® for gum procedures reduces bleeding, post-operative pain, swelling and the need for pain medication in many cases.

Accuracy & Precision:

Waterlase® dentists are able to remove tooth enamel decay (the hardest substance in the body), bone and gum tissue precisely while leaving surrounding areas unaffected. This conserves and allows you to keep more of the healthy tooth structure.

Reduced Trauma:

High speed drills can cause hairline cracks and fractures in the teeth that eventually lead to future dental problems. Waterlase® reduces damage to healthy portions of the tooth and minimizes trauma.

Crowns

Crowns

The dentist will prepare the tooth to the ideal shape for the crown. This will involve removing most of the outer surface, and leaving a strong inner core. The amount of the tooth removed will be the same as the thickness of the crown. Once the tooth is shaped, the dentist will take an impression (mould) of the prepared tooth, one of the opposite jaw and possibly another to mark the way you bite together.

The impressions will then be given a dental technician, along with an appropriate shade and other information needed for the crown to be made.

A temporary crown will be fitted so that you can use the tooth while you wait for the crown to be made. This crown may be more noticeable but is only a temporary measure.
