Dental Implants

Dental implants offer the most advanced way to replace missing teeth. An implant is a tiny post made from titanium – a metal so well-tolerated by the body it eventually fuses with the surrounding bone and acts as a substitute tooth root.

When the implant is fully embedded, a crown or bridge is attached to fill any gaps. Implants can also be used to support dentures so they stay firmly in place, helping to improve their appearance and functionality.

Dr Afzal is a highly experienced implant surgeon who has undertaken extensive postgraduate training in this exciting field of dentistry.

The photos below show how Dr Afzal successfully used an implant to replace a tooth that had broken off at the gum line. He also replaced existing crowns to totally transform the patient’s smile.

Dental Veneers

A veneer is a tailor-made restoration, produced from durable, tooth-like porcelain. It covers the front surface of a tooth to conceal a variety of defects, including chips and discolouration. Veneers can also be used to address mild crowding and small gaps in the teeth. A single veneer can cover one unsightly tooth or several can be used as part of a smile transformation.

Dr Afzal has carried out extensive postgraduate training, so he is able to enhance smiles with expertly applied veneers.

The picture below shows beautifully natural-looking veneers. These were fitted to replace the existing ones which did not blend in well with the patient’s teeth.
