About the Business

To become recognised as the dental centre of excellence in Aberdeen and to be recommended as a specialist referral practice within the region.”

A dental practice was established at the address nearly 70 years, The Dental Practice 21 Rubislaw Terrace is now widely regarded as THE dental centre of excellence in Aberdeen. As well as being ostensibly a general dental practice, it has become recognised as the leading specialist referral practice within the region for more complex and difficult cases. Several of the dentists lecture at undergraduate and postgraduate level and are active in dental research. The practice offers a comprehensive range of dental services with the aim of preventing problems arising in the future. The practice has gained and held the British Dental Association Good Practice accreditation for the last 12 years which measures quality assurance in many clinical and administrative areas.

In our friendly and welcoming private dental practice, customer care and focus are extremely important. Our philosophy is patient centred, sympathetic, sensitive and understanding in its approach especially with those who may be apprehensive or concerned about visiting the dentist.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants

Implants are one way of replacing missing teeth. A post is planted in the jaw bone to support a replacement tooth. This acts like the root of a natural tooth. Implants can also be used to support fixed bridges or dentures.

Implant treatment normally has two stages. First, the implant is placed in the jaw. Then, when the jaw has healed, replacement teeth are attached to the implant. In some situations it is possible for temporary teeth to be attached to an implant at the time of fitting.
General Dentistry

General Dentistry

The Dental Practice is ostensibly a general dental practice providing a full range of dental services for all patients from the very young to the very old. However, the practice does have the huge advantage that if a more unusual or difficult condition is diagnosed or if any patient needs a specialised procedure then we have a clinician in house who can be called upon. Each patient is assigned to a named clinician “their dentist” and this person coordinates their care.

This maintains continuity and a point of contact for the patient and other specialist clinicians alike which is so important. Furthermore as just about every dental problem may be managed in house there is less chance of patients getting “lost” if they are referred to outside clinics. There is an emphasis on prevention throughout the practice as this is much better than cure.
