About the Business

The practice was established in the 1920s. It was taken over by Mr Donohoe in 1984. In September 1988, the practice was relocated to new premises at 39 Dartford Road.

Today the practice is set in a parade of shops. The ground floor position means that we have easy wheelchair access with a disabled toilet and no steep stairs for those who are unable to climb them. The practice is air conditioned all year round for your comfort.

In September 2009 we obtained planning permission for a new extension to further improve services and to comply with the new guidelines that are issued by the Department of Health. Construction work on the extension was completed in September 2011 providing another ground floor surgery, a decontamination room, an office and additional storage space. Following completion of the extension, we now have 2 surgeries suitable for our less able patients.

In 2003 the practice achieved the prestigious Investors in People award and has maintained the standard ever since. This award is given to businesses that show a high standard of good practice for training and development of staff.

In 2010 the practice achieved membership of the British Dental Association’s Good Practice Scheme and has maintained membership since. This quality assurance programme recognises commitment to quality.

In 2013 the practice was inspected by the Quality Care Commission and was found to be meeting the standard in all the outcomes investigated.

Implant Dentistry

Implant Dentistry

Dental implants are an effective, long-lasting way to replace one or more missing teeth, and can offer an alternative to dentures. They can improve how you eat and speak, prevent shrinkage of the jawbone, and keep existing teeth firmly in place.

Implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed in the jawbone to act just like tooth roots. These posts eventually fuse with the bone, providing a firm foundation for a crown or bridge.
Crowns

Crowns

Crowns fit neatly over unsightly or broken teeth, providing complete coverage and restoring strength, shape and appearance. They offer an aesthetic restoration for broken, decayed or discoloured teeth, or those with large fillings.

Made from porcelain, ceramic or metal alloys, crowns can also be used on teeth that have had root canal treatment or secured to dental implants to replace missing teeth. They are matched in size, shape and colour to sit comfortably alongside existing teeth.
