About the Business
Paul & Hilary Blundell have owned the practice since 1993 when they took it over from Mr Colin Petherick. Hilary & Paul gained their dental qualifications from Edinburgh University Dental School in 1987. Between then and working at this practice they both worked in Omagh for a year and the rest of the time they worked in practices in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
In 1994, Paul gained a postgraduate qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons London, his DGDP (Diploma in General Dental Practice).
The practice has been approved a member of the BDA Good Practice Scheme since 2007. This is a voluntary regulatory scheme that sets standards that are audited to maintain membership. A new local compulsory registration scheme RQIA (Regulation, Quality, and Inspection Authority) was introduced in 2011. Blundell Dental Practice was inspected for the first time under this new body in October 2011, and was compliant with the required standards.
